film

On the edge of Europe, middle-aged Eliot wakes up in a crashed car and realizes he doesn’t want to leave. In this unsafe space, he finds the only safety he’s known. Is there a ‘way out’? This short film delves into profound questions of dependence, identity, and the passage of time. Elliot, awakens to the unsettling realization that his life has drifted, shaped by the expectations and dependencies of others.

Set in Hungary, with a British protagonist and a long-lost connection from his past—a fleeting romantic moment that was never realized—the story subtly echoes the shifting political and societal landscapes of Europe over the past 40 years. It taps into the collective sense of “what might have been,” while also addressing the quiet disillusionment with political evolution and societal progress, both in the East and the West.
